What Star Wars Is Anthology: Memoir, Cultural Criticism, and Essay about the Space Operas

We are currently accepting open submissions for this project.

What we want:

Essay, Memoir, Humor, and Cultural Criticism ABOUT Star Wars (The films). We may consider some poetry, as well, that alludes to or talks about the theme. Submissions should be in the form of prose, essay, vers libre, list, blurb, epistolary (letters), or criticism (MLA Style, please).

The theme of Star Wars may be interpreted as loosely as the writer sees fit. There has to be an obvious significance.

What we do not want:

We do not want fan fiction, reinterpretations, photos of your Luke Skywalker Halloween Costume, nerdfest rants about the EU, or any other acronym associated with internet bulletin boards about SW, complaints about how George Lucas ruined Star Wars (We are of the opinion that he can do with Star Wars as he likes since he created and owns it), adaptations, science fiction or fantasy re-hashes, anything that would violate the copyright owned by Lucas, or anything other than what we have asked for above. If you have any grand ideas that you think we would absolutely love, then query first. We will ignore submissions that do not follow guidelines, so do not waste our time or your own.

Examples of what we want (If you want to write these, you may. We just made up the titles):

Everything I Ever Needed to Know I Learned from Star Wars
Religious Undertones in Star Wars
The Theme of Food in Star Wars
The Hidden Meaning of Princess Leia’s Metal Bikini
An Essay on How that Gross Sand Monster with the Big Teeth Should Go to the Dentist (humor)

Why I Loved Star Wars
